About the library

The library was founded in September 2011 and is a structural unit of the University. The library is designed to provide information and educational resources to the educational process and research.

Mission of the library: formation, storage and preservation of funds; ensuring maximum access to library funds; improvement of library and reference-bibliographic and information services for users; introduction of modern information technologies; development of library staff and professional development.

Information resources of the library include full-text databases, traditional and electronic library catalogs, electronic Internet resources used by users for educational purposes.

The library Fund is an integral part of information resources and includes educational, methodical and scientific literature, as well as legislative and regulatory acts, periodicals.

The formation of the library Fund is conducted in accordance with the thematic plan of acquisition, which reflects the profile of academic disciplines of the educational process.

The library Fund presents educational and scientific publications on natural Sciences, socio-economic, historical, philological Sciences, psychology and pedagogy, fiction. Educational literature is presented in electronic media and printed form in the state, Russian, English languages.

The main sources of acquisition for the library are currently the following: bookselling firms and publishers specializing in the service of University libraries; subscription to periodicals; gifts of individuals and organizations.

The Fund is formed on electronic media, which consists of electronic textbooks, training software, videos, textbooks and teaching AIDS scspu.

Disclosure of the contents of the library Fund contributes to the reference and bibliographic apparatus. The library organizes and maintains various types of catalogs, differing from each other in volume, content and structure: alphabetical, systematic, topographic, electronic catalogs.

The alphabetical directory is the link to all the directories in the library. On cards with the main bibliographic records the full classification index, subject headings, keywords, quantity of copies of this edition and their inventory numbers and in what divisions of library they are specified. Bibliographic records are arranged in alphabetical order of surnames of individual authors, names of collective authors or titles of documents.

A systematic catalog is a library catalog in which bibliographic records are arranged by branches of knowledge in accordance with a certain system of universal decimal classification (UDC) and performs an information function, discloses the contents of the library Fund, presenting information about the literature on various branches of knowledge: the catalog satisfies the request for literature on branches as a whole, part or individual issue.

Electronic catalog is a library catalog in machine-readable form, working in real time and available to readers of the library. Electronic catalog provides access to the resources of the catalog not only to users of the library, but also to remote clients, is a bibliographic database in machine-readable form, including elements of bibliographic records, information retrieval languages to reflect the content of documents and elements indicating the address of the document (sigla library departments).

The electronic catalog, along with the description of books, contains descriptions of articles from Newspapers and magazines received by the library, as well as scientific collections and conference materials.

Library staff work in the following areas: the formation of the Fund and the collection, processing of documents; organization of reference and bibliographic information; information and library services to readers; automation of library and bibliographic processes; professional development of library staff.

The staff of the library is eight people, all have higher education, six of them special library education.

The library cooperates with the largest libraries of Kazakhstan and libraries of Shymkent. Library staff take part in conferences and seminars on various topics for professional development

All structural units of the library are equipped with the necessary library equipment and furniture, computer and copying equipment.
